Rainbow Brite 2004

So the other day I was thinking about 80's cartoons and stuff. Rainbow Brite was one of my favorites when I was little. I even have an original doll and everything. I remember when you could get the Sprites at Pizza Hut (I think we lived in Missouri or something at the time). Anyway, I decided I wanted to draw her! But the clothes HAD to go... and I wanted to make her more human. I decided I wanted to make her sort of like a superhero. So I set out drawing.

Oh my gosh, she turned out SO cute!!!!

Mom saw it when I had just finished paper-inking it.
Her: "So is that Rainbow Brite grown up?"
Me: "Well... I couldn't work with what she WAS wearing!!"
Her: "So it's RainbowBrite grown up."
Me: "I guess so..."
Her: "It's RainbowBrite grown up. She didn't have boobs."

Whatevah Mom She cracks me up. She liked it a lot though.

I think I might do more of the gang. I'm so excited how this turned out! I messed with a bunch of lighting effects and stuff and although the background sucks, let us all keep in mind that normally the background is just FLAT COLOR. Thank you....

Dang... 7 hours total, off and on (from the commencement of computer inking - it was like 20 minutes to sketch and ink on paper)
